    J. Crew Fall/Winter 2011 Discussion

Argh, now that I know I can stack the student discount on top of the 30% today, I have to figure out whether I want to buy a J.Crew suit today, wait for a slightly better J.Crew sale, wait for the Nordstrom Half-Yearly (which should put some BBros suits on sale), or pray for someone to put...

I'd take the wellies with the kittens or daisies on them if it meant that they'd be out of Uggs.

    What wallet do you use?

Trying to decide between the Saddleback Card Holder and the narrow bi-fold. I bought a card holder from J.Crew on a whim just to see what it was like and had a hell of a time trying to shove my cash into the center pocket. How difficult is it or (dangerously) un-difficult is it to inset / remove...

    J Crew Spring/Summer 2011 Discussion

What brand? Does Nordstrom make their own brand of shoes? Yes, under their house brand of "1901". I have the Carson Oxfords in Blue. They were on sale at the time for $50. They're pretty damned good and would still be decent at the full retail.

There was a 20% off sale? Damn. You're in luck, they just posted 30% off $150 through Sunday.

Are people ironing their J Crew chinos or wearing them straight out the dryer? Bowery = Yes; Broken-in = No

    J Crew Spring/Summer 2011 Discussion

My failure to find a baller messenger has brought me to this. I feel like I could do a lot worse? Bought this a year and a half ago in khaki on sale for ~$60. Been using it as my primary bag for work (teaching), so its contents are usually lots of paper, a netbook, chargers, and a sweater...

    J Crew Fall/Winter 2010 Discussion

WTF, $650 for a J.Crew suit? As much as I love the subtle birds-eye tweed, that's a **** load of money for J.Crew. Add CA tax and you're talking $700. Yikes. Wonder if any of you know of anything similar that's not $700 or better quality for this amount of money? Then again, everyone is...

    J Crew Fall/Winter 2010 Discussion

Have the cord jacket in a small. Got it earlier this season for $75. Had the sleeves shortened for $12 more. It's good for tossing around without the worry of messing up a jacket three or four times the value. I'm somewhere between a medium and a small, so the small fits me pretty well in the waist.

    J Crew Fall/Winter 2010 Discussion

For me, the amount of post-wash placket fucked-uppedness depends on the shirt, even between madras shirts that only differ by color. Some are fairly easy to iron smooth after washing, a couple require really meticulous work and a lot of pressure.

    J Crew Fall/Winter 2010 Discussion

I also need a fall jacket besides my Harrington. Think I'm going to see if I can convince my local store will match the website's sale on the Corduroy SC. Edit: To get in on the gingham conversation, I have a J.Crew shirt with medium gingham check in english grape. My GF says it makes me look a...

    Lands' End Canvas

Today I got a hand address and hand written thank you card from LEC and the order from UPS hasn't even shown up yet! But it was a very nice touch. This order I only bought the argyle socks (what a bargain!) and the canvas work bag. The card makes me want to take a chance on ordering a few things...

    J Crew S/S 10 Discussion

Since a bunch are on sale and in my size I am thinking about getting my first Baird McNutt linen shirt from JCrew. What's everyone's general take on them? I'm loving them. Not only is the material great in Los Angeles, but that they run just a bit looser than the secret wash shirts means that I...
