The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

I'm 95% sure that's a Plycraft. It has the same legs, arms, and back supports as mine. Awesome find! Edit: now I'm not so sure. The arms and back look the same but on second look the legs on yours are nicer than mine. If you figure out what it is I'm interested to know

Pop on vicuna for me! $15 after I reunited the two parts. Made for a DC lawyer by a Maryland tailor who does MTM and bespoke suits. Surgeon cuffs, tons of handwork, overall very nice, just not a known brand. Fits me, and I needed a new suit, so...

That dla code indicates 1984. The 2-digit number before the c is usually a year. Later (90s+?) Codes don't follow that patter, but older ones do.

Any markings on the outside, maybe near the top? Those look very similar to the pair I have from my grandfather. He served late 40s through 60s, so I doubt they're 1933. Mine have a stamp in a similar location; I can't make it out but it's not 1933. Maybe it's just a serial? Edit: image...

What am I looking at? Google doesn't have results for these style numbers. Made in England for a local place (Britches of Georgetown). No other markings. Suede feels nice. Construction looks better than average.

Yes, big help, thanks! I should have mentioned they are small "e" and no selvedge. The pockets have no stamping that I can see, but it may have washed off. No other tags though. I only say unworn since there's no fading on knees or crotch. All the stitching is the same color, no lemon...

Anybody mind a dumpster dive? All the Gameboys (need new batteries) and Wii work, need power cables for the 360 and PS4. For those who don't know, Gameboy advances are going for $80-200 on the 'bay depending on color way/condition. And I'm starting to work off backlog, pulled these all out...

@HansderHund I've never lost an animal brethren, but I read and understand the grief you have written. Bless your family, and may you have the peace and love you need.

@ATLjon You may already know this, but that looks like a Plycraft. I can take pics of mine later if you want to see labels or anything. From what I can tell they flip well, but people aren't going to be too precious about originality since it's not Eames. I've seen folks recover these with old...

One stop, one kop, but: pop! Love when they leave the price tag in the pocket: ****, it's my size. Unsure I'll have the heart to sell it. I can't believe I own an Isaia now.

Recent posts about thrifting your own closet reminded me about Grandfather's old trench coat, thought the thread might appreciate it. Not as old as the WWI jackets above, but still interesting. It didn't escape without some moth holes, but I will use some of the fabric from other motheaten...

Quick stop yesterday. A couple single-stitch tees and a sweet PRL shirt (huge on me, might flip but I might try it as a summer shacket first). Need help with the Gaultier. It's well made but seems a bit tame for JPG, and the tags are sus. My head says fake but my heart would really like a win...

Does this thing ring a bell with anyone? Online auction, I can't inspect it, so I don't know if this is just a crappy particleboard table or some kinda funky 60s, 70s, 80s piece. It reminds me of something but I'm drawing a blank, so curious if furniture bros recognize it.

Quick stop, one kop. Thought the patina looked old, so I googled Louisville slugger dating guide and this looks like it's a '34-49 bat. Hickory. Comps on ebay are $200+ so I guess I have another bin to check out when I go.

Looks rad! My go-to would be soapy water and a rag, don't soak the wood just give the surface a good cleaning. If you can identify the existing finish then it's best to use the same, but it looks like oil would do fine. I like Danish oil, just apply a liberal coat, let sit a few minutes, then...
