    St. Crispin's Appreciation Thread

Out of curiosity, are the other shoes also StC and if so what are the colors? Is that CRU 606 in the bottom left and CRU 609 on the wingtip?

I don't have the Durham, but the 325 last works well with jeans. I wear my Conistons mainly with jeans, so I imagine the Durham would wear similarly.

    Antonio Meccariello Shoes

"I can't afford it" and "GYW is good enough" aren't even counters to the fact that HW is better than GYW, though. These statements exist side-by-side with the fact that HW is superior and address a separate and independent question of relative value/worth to the individual. These two questions...

    St. Crispin's Appreciation Thread

Aside from the that that this very much is interaction with real human beings (you are not a bot, correct?), this is of course not what I was referring to when I mention socializing. And in any event, the comment wasn't even about me--the idea is not to free up time for the consumer, it frees up...

    St. Crispin's Appreciation Thread

Well, StC custom last isn't bespoke. I don't think anyone is expecting bespoke results? Did we totally lose the thread here or what? And I also disagree with your characterization that people want technology to advance so they don't have to interact with other humans. But I think this view...

    St. Crispin's Appreciation Thread

Maybe I wasn't clear, I think we're saying the same thing though. A shoemaker is going to be designing the aesthetics of the last and shoe either way, regardless of whether a 3D model (or plaster mold) is used to measure the foot, or whether the user does it themselves per instructions. I...

    St. Crispin's Appreciation Thread

How much do you eat for lunch??? Also, unless you have a tailor take multiple measurements at you during various times throughout the day, I'm not sure this is the best example. Isn't this true regardless of how you take the foot measurements? That's the shoemakers job. I don't think anyone is...

CAVOUR Official Community - Discuss Tailoring, Shirting, Shoes & More - Official Affiliate Thread

Agree, I bought the London Grain Dovers in 606 from Cavour and love the last, I'd want the same if I got DOAK. I also agree that the 202 could be better for suede, but would have to see them in person to compare.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Beautiful shoes. But...you just had two pairs of completely unworn EGs? Did you purchase during confinement, or how did this happen?

For me, 314 has less room in the toebox than 363, 337 and 325 (in ascending order of toebox space for me), specifically around the pinky toe. I would say it just barely works for me, and only with thin or no socks (which is how I wear them anyway), and it helps that they are unlined.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

I generally go down 1 full size from US to C&J, although I've never tried the 348 last which I believe might be narrower than the lasts I have (325, 337, 363). I go 1 full size down on the 325 last. C&J E = US D width, so I think you'd want to go with an F width (or maybe only go down a half...

It’s the same site, it just redirects to the French site based on your location. I live in France, so it automatically takes me to the French site, but if I have a VPN set to the US or UK it will take me to that respective site. Without the VPN turned on, however, it doesn’t let me even see...

Yep, it does. Unfortunately, the French offerings are more limited than the British/US websites, however. The only way I can access the UK or US version of the website from France is with a VPN; not sure if anyone else has a better workaround.

I have the Harvard in dark brown cordovan in the 314 last (376 is supposedly an updated version of the 314 with the same toe box and a closer-fitting heel), and I do find the toe box a little tight, especially compared with the 325 last (I have Conistons in the same size). I couldn't go up in...
