I have not heard this from a definitive source, but experience tells me, that statement is true. Their shell definitely feels thinner, and is definitely more flexible than other brands I have tried.

Nice boots, but return them, I repeat, do not wear those outside. I had a pair of shoes like that (not from Carmina) and I tried to force the issue. I wore them dozens of times, and the feeling that I was standing on a rocking chair never went away.
They are not storm welted (not a fan of the aesthetic), but I have not experienced any moisture leaking through.
I had to trek through 8 inches of snow for about 400 yards, and did not have any water get through. I was very pleased and surprised because I know others have not had the same...
