I take half a size smaller in one Cheaney (last 205) Compared to 341 last. Also from trying on shoes or boots in the Cheaney store, I know a few more, but can't remember the last number. To add confusion, in one cheaney last (sorry I can't get to the shoes to check at the moment) I'm the same size.

I'm in the UK, the exchange rate doesn't affect me. Just being at home not earning an income is my main concern at the moment. At least as far as buying a new pair of shoes is concerned.

I'm recovering from surgery and told myself that once I'm recovered and back working, I'm going to buy some loafers; Teign or Sydney, not sure which. I realised I could've done with some slip-on footwear. Now I'm saying, once all the virus stuff is over with I'll get some. Anyone else going to...

I'm after some (suede) loafers, so this was potentially good news. However, I still prefer models from the existing collection.

Can you actually tell the difference between cheap and expensive silk ties?

I have a few expensive ties (drakes, turnball and asset) many more cheaper ties from TM lewin and similar. The biggest difference is the quality of the knot with the more expensive ties are better. I wouldn't say I can feel any difference in quality. Most of the cost difference I though was due...

    Cheaney

I have a few Cheaney and Crockett and Jones. The attention to detail is a little better with C&J. I would say the quality of materials are on par. The edging on the soles seem to be cut closer to the shoe with C&J compared with Cheaney. I have a pair Cheaney purchased in a sale (probably a...

There isn't much on the site is there. I think the 238 last is slightly shorter and doesn't narrow so much towards the toe.

I thought dark brown was the better option for a first pair. Although I wear them mainly during spring / summer, they work with lighter trousers / pants. As a second pair, I'd probably get a lighter snuff.

I have some suede chukka from bodileys made by C&J. They got completely submerged in water after getting caught in a storm, with a 3 mile walk. Walking in puddles completely covering the foot. They took a few days to dry, I think I may have used a hair dryer as it was the only pair of footwear I...

@Evergreen88 @Braid Looks like you found some great shoes. What are the opening times there now. Is it still the Friday from 1:30pm and Saturday?

I agree. Last winter in snow the dainite sole was useless on my chukka boots. These look like they may be a bit more surefooted in the snow. As yet I only have chukka boots, these would fit that gap for bigger boots.

    Sport Coats and Jeans

Noted, I could either get it lengthened or get the longer jacket and shorten the sleeves. The jeans were a nice dark wash when I purchased them.

I brought this jacket to go with some chino trousers. Do you think it will work with jeans?
