Why would you buy a NEW suit?

You make some fair points. Personally I take everything to my tailor so that the fit is better than RTW off the rack. The main drawback for me is that so many non-bespoke suits have large arm holes, which bugs me a bit and is not fixable. However, these suits and jackets are not pieces which I...

Why would you buy a NEW suit?

If I buy used online without being able to try it first, I request these measurements and then buy only if the sleeve and leg lengths need adjustment (bringing in the jacket waist is also pretty safe).

Why would you buy a NEW suit?

Well done on building your wardrobe for such a budget. I also have a mixture of items which are thrifted, RTW, MTM or bespoke and they each have their strengths and weaknesses, imo. The main downsides of thrifting is that it is hugely time-consuming, the choices are often limited and...

    Lightweight summer trousers

Totally agree. I find wool more comfortable and more elegant/beautiful than chinos in cooler weather, and topical wool or linen are more breathable in summer. Nor surprisingly I don't own chinos :)

    Naples Bespoke Tailors

For what it's worth, I'm a foreigner and I don't feel that the prices were hiked up for me. The more established the brand and fancy the interior of the tailor shop, the higher the prices got. That's to be expected. By the way, I have heard of stories of local, long-term customers being...

    Naples Bespoke Tailors

I was in Napoli a few month ago and met with a few tailors. Prices ranged from €1,500-€3,000 for a two-piece suit, fabric included. Turnaround time could range from 1-3 months. Consider that you might need a day or two just to meet up with your short list of tailors to see how you communicate...

Best cities in Europe to build a complete wardrobe leaning casual

If you can narrow down which brands are of interest, then you can research where they have physical stores and see which city has the most matches for you. Milan is my best guess without knowing more.

    Kirby Allison: Affiliate thread

It's a pity that Kirby's shop doesn't work as well for those of us in Europe. For example, a $115 pair of braces becomes a $185 once shipping and taxes are included.

    Valet stand... Who uses? Recommendations?

Some have two, such as this model which I am currently considering.

Best one-stop shop clothing brands/stores to build up a complete wardrobe of high quality classic menswear?

For that price range, I would be spending my money on bespoke suits which offer more choice, better fit and closer match to personal taste than any RTW brand. Savile Row tailors are over this budget but there are other excellent tailors who are in your price range. Some of them travel as well.
