**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

Yes, the knot comes undone - even if I have a very tight knot (even a double knot). Is there a reason why the tongue sliding would only happen now and not the previous 10 or 11 years I have had them? Could the leather have deformed so they no longer fit properly?

**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

I have a 12 year old pair of Oxfords, where the tongue has started to slip down and the laces come undone. Are the shoes coming to their end, do they no longer fit me for some reason, or is this something I'm doing? My other shoes don't do this.

    Official Fountain Pen Aficionados Thread

I exclusively write with fountain pens and have two with a third coming soon. I'll try to find some more on eBay and grow my collection next year, so I'll share those as I get them. A Cross Townsend that my parents bought me as a graduation present 10 years ago. A Pilot capless in red with gold...

    Cars We Drive!

No. My car is pretty boring and is worth £5k, its gained over £1000 in value this year. If I were to buy something newer I would pay a premium of more than the £1000 and have to deal with the hassle of finding a car when they are in short supply. Its only done 107k miles and while I would like...

    The Home Ownership Thread

At the same time, I think a lot of buyers are put off by paint that is the wrong colour and don't seem to realise they can have a decorator paint the whole thing for a few thousand pounds.

    Random Food Questions Thread

A few of the ones at 50% or below are really good. British cuisine would IMO be higher if it weren't for the fact that a lot of British chefs are simply not very good at cooking.

    The Home Ownership Thread

On Saturday we are going to go and look at new bathrooms. Fortunately our tastes mostly overlap so there is not much arguing about what to go for, unfortunately I work from home and she does not, so I will be left looking after the contractors.

Packaging - what do you do with it?

The excess shirt packaging is just annoying, especially when I bought it online. Shoe boxes are a convenient size so I reuse those for storing other things.

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Yeah they do, I didn't notice that. At least working from home means I can sit still while they break in.

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

I have a pair of new Meermin boots which slip at the heel. They feel snug, but there isn't anything holding the foot in so it slides up the back of the boot when I walk. Is this normal for boots which haven't been broken in or should I return them? They are the same size, width and last as my...
