    thanks for all the replies. The 10000 steps a day is recommended by both the American and Canadian government bodies as a healthy way to keep active, but is not meant to REPLACE all cardio. I play hockey twice a week as well. So, no one has tried the 10000 steps a day thing??? CHeers, MIKE
