I don't recommend changing the lining. Your tailor might just screw up a decent jacket. The tailors here might not even accept the job because it entails unstitching the lining and sewing back on a new one which is time consuming. They would rather make entirely new jackets because they earn...

Look for Fresco, Finmeresco, and Crispaire. But you won't find it in Kamuning. And if you are buying those fabrics you might as well have your suit made by a competent tailor.

Anything that is pure linen or with plenty of it will wrinkle a lot. Linen is an inherently casual fabric. If you don't want fabric that wrinkles don't wear anything with linen in it.

Don't believe what the sellers tell you. It is certainly not made by Ferragamo or whatever brand you can see on the selvedge of the fabric. It is not made in England or Italy either. That Php 1,500 per yard fabric is Php 900 in Kamuning and Php 300 in Binondo. For the price you are paying it is...

Thanks, @DppDr! Cornell's makes softer suits than most local tailors. He can make acceptable copies.

    1. My friend has an experience with Glenmore shoes. He had a pair made and paid a downpayment. When he saw the shoes he decided to no longer pay the rest of the amount and just left the shoes. It's not Goodyear Welted. They say it's "close to Goodyear Welting". For reference see this post on...

Sleeve and shoulder alterations are tricky for many of the tailors here in Manila. I suggest you buy a new suit instead.

You're not the first person to tell me that. I've had a few people email me about him not replying but they eventually were able to get in touch and get their suits.

Secret Armory is still alive. They like to keep a low profile. Tiño likes to market their suits as fashion and highlight the craftsmanship at the same time. That's probably why you don't like the photos that you see.

The problem with waist alterations is that the pockets will look weird and out of proportion. Best to buy a new pair if you lost weight.

You can go to Hong Kong and pick up a few yards.

There's a Levi's outlet store in Alphaland Southgate Mall. They can slim down the leg but not sure about the waist. Best to buy jeans that fit well off the rack as there are plenty of choices out there.

Look for worsted cloths with a fine, smooth and crisp appearance. If you need more info check out my blog or PM me.

Agree that sending it would cost a lot. On the other hand, selling a relatively unknown brand in the Philippines will be extremely difficult. Only a handful of people here are familiar with Meermin.
