Hartmann vs. Glaser Designs vs. Lotuff & Clegg

I have no experience with Hartmann, but regarding duffles, L&C uses a thicker leather than GD with pronounced "graining." GD likely would be more accommodating to customizing a standard model. Materials aside, workmanship on L&C and GD are comparable, but with a slight tip to...

    WW Chan's March Tour

Yao's workmanship isn't comparable to Chan's in my limited experience. Chan's is arguably superior. Yao is also relatively inflexible in terms of style; that is, he has his notion of what looks good and will try to persuade you to agree. That said, I think the "house style" is...

    Notch lapels with belly

I considered commissioning a jacket with a little belly on the notch lapels, but thought the better of it when I couldn't even picture what that would look like. Anyone own something like this? Pictures?

    Are these Berluti's real Croc/Alligator?

Thanks, all, for your input. One reason I like scotch grain is that it can take a beating and it doens't seem like one needs to take as good care of it. That being said, I think standard conditioners and waxes wil do just fine. Thanks. I agree with the appeal; I played a few rounds of muddy...

    Care for scotch grain leather

Are there any special considerations for scotch grain-specific shoe care? I assume that conditioners, cremes and waxes will work just as they do for calf. Am I wrong?

    John Lobb sizing oddity

If the Lobbs were marked according to English sizing, that might help explain it. I find too that Lobbs are normally roomier through the toe box and instep than most of my other shoes.
