    Man of Steel (2013)

Hmmm. I had Batman Begins(start of the reboot)in mind. Although now, thinking about it, maybe BB was as well reviewedd as TDK or TDKR. I will have to check Rotten Tomatoes to see. Anyways, back to the MoS topic - I am gonna stop reading reviews till I see the movie. Some of the reviews are...

    Man of Steel (2013)

Heh! I think that is part the review too. In any case, a bunch of the reviews I have been reading seem to lament that it is humorless, dark, nobody-cracks-a-smile, not Reeve, etc(in essence) and it was getting stale - to me, at least. I thought this review was a good counterpoint. As for...

    Man of Steel (2013)

Thought I would put this review here. Most other reviews seem to harp on the comparison to Christopher Reeve, darker tone, etc, etc. I thought this one and a few others seem to not be weighted down by the past. http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/reviews/man-of-steel-20130613 I, for one, can't...

Batman: Dark Knight Rises (movie thread)

Heh! Most of the time, I arrive at the scene(or the thread, as it were) and find that everything has been said(or asked). Hence, my relative silence.:) This time, I think I came upon the review about minutes after it appeared and so, voila. Hope this review is accessible and not behind the WSJ...

Batman: Dark Knight Rises (movie thread)

I thought I would contribute in here as I have been lurking on this thread for a while(great thread!). A review from the WSJ is out. http://professional.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303754904577530792153262270.html?mod=WSJPRO_hps_MIDDLEThirdNews

OFFICIAL: iPad 2.0 Apps You Must Have Apps

Am thinking of getting an Ipad but I wanted to see if anyone has any idea on how to do the following or if anyone has tried this before. - I currently log into my work laptop from my home PC by using a VPN client(Nortel Networks Contivity client) to log on to my company's network and then...

    Museums in NYC

Second the recommendation for The Cloisters. Beautiful place - a little difficult to get to but worth it. Also, if you have some time to kill in the Midtown East area, the Morgan Library is worth checking out.

Went skydiving for the first time today!

Awesome. I did a jump(tandem) a few years ago and I had the same reaction you had. I was not nervous or jittery at all - till I stood at the airplane door. At that point, looking out of the door, I wondered what the hell was I thinking. Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

    Manhattan Sales Alert!!

I checked out SH on Sunday...Agree that there is some beautiful merchandise, but still a bit pricey even at 50% off. Anyone else go since?...hearing chatter that certain areas are now 90% off?.....if so must go back. I stopped by. Some nice stuff available, including some sportcoats in...

    u2 360 tour

The opening act, Muse, starts at 7pm and U2 comes on at around 9pm. Go for both if you can - Muse is pretty good. Give yourself a lot of time before and after the concert as there have been some crazy stories about the traffic to and fro. I was at the Giants stadium for the concert and it was...

    Manhattan Sales Alert!!

I swung by the Warehouse sale earlier. Was in and out in 10 minutes. Didn't see much but I did see a dark brown C&J Cottesmore jodphur boot in 11 1/2 for about $319. Had some creases but still looked really nice. Would have bought it had it been my size.

    NYC Eyeglass shopping vsp help

Hi, I had used Sol Moscot(14th and 6 ave)about 2 years ago, with VSP. They accepted VSP then and they carried a reasonable range of frames. I got one of the MyKita frames. I am not certain if they are still accepting VSP - check against the VSP list.
