Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

@stook1 and @dukenukem4ever, It's helpful to hear from people with experience with cordovan. I certainly wouldn't trust myself to try and massage it out.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

You make a good point---they did a nice job matching the color to what is shown on the site and I'm not sure that I'd want to take a chance on that again. EG asked me to send the boots back so that they could take a look at them. Perhaps they can massage it out as @michaelvl mentioned.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Thanks. I do like the color---I explicitly asked if they could match the color as it appears on EG's site. I'm torn as to which way to go. Given that it is my first pair and the $2.5K USD that I spent, I'm tempted to see if they can replace them, but as others have said, maybe that's ridiculous...

That's because it is snuff. I misspoke when I said mink suede

I see, but I'm not sure that the other boot could have been sitting on this part of the boot in the box given the spacing.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

On a related note, I just got back and opened my cognac cordovan+mink suede Galways and noticed a slight indent in near the heal of one of the boots. It is both visible (see attached photo) and perceptible to the touch. As this is my first pair of EG shoes, it's not clear whether this I should...

Thanks @ladislav.jancik and @Meelypops. That makes sense. I was aware that there was a fair bit of variability in the cognac, but didn't consider how that would affect the appearance of the mink suede in the picture.

These are the cognac cordovan with snuff suede? The suede looks light compared to the pictures on EG (https://www.edwardgreen.com/shop/shoes/galway-cognac-cordovan-snuff-suede-tan-82-last.html). Is that just the photo?

I just got a pair of cognac shell/snuff Galways. They arrived a few days ago while I am out of town. I'm excited to see them. How do you like your's?

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Just a rant...I ordered a pair of MTO Galways in mid-August. I checked in with EG at various points in the fall and was consistently told that they would ship in mid- or late-November. Now that we are in December, I reached out to inquire on the status and after checking with the factory, they...
