Help me find a scarf and gloves

I want to get a pair of these (US grad student here), but I'm trying to figure out sizing (they apparently use numbers, not S/M/L etc, and they aren't responding to my email). I found some measurement guides. One site suggests wrapping a tape measure around the horizontally widest part of...

Help me find a scarf and gloves

For gloves, I have two pairs from this seller (cognac unlined, black alpaca lined), which I have found to be great value. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MENs-alpaca-...item3a554953a9 If you want a soft scarf, then you probably want cashmere. B&S or ebay will probably be your best bet. I've gotten Sak's...

Are there any products out there that make your hair look dirty?

I like aveda men's grooming clay for that kind of look. Play around with different clay/fiber styling products. I'd recommend trying a few testers from nearby stores until you find something that works. I spent a fair bit on products that only got used a few times until I was able to find...

Need Advice: Buying a suit in Toronto

If you are looking to spend $300-$1000, want something good, and are shopping in Toronto, I would try to buy elsewhere. Much better deals are available across the border through online shops. Check out virtualclotheshorse, ehaberdasher, shopthefinest, B&S, and find some things that you like...

    Opinions on Finamore dress shirts

Fit varies, but tends to be slim. The ones that I recently received from VCH size 15.5/39 have ~44" chest, ~18.5" shoulders, ~41" waist. I also have one with the same neck size that I bought elsewhere which has 17" shoulders, 41" chest, 38" waist.

    Hiring A Stylist

Harry Rosen, and Holt Renfrew are both located in Southern Ontario, and offer services where they will evaluate your wardrobe, discern what kind of look you may like, and help you build up the kind of style you want. Never used so I can't vouch for either, but I would imagine they are capable of...

    Winter weather footwear

If you want overshoes, then Tingley's or Swims If you want a boot, depending on price range/style considerations you could go for timberland, C & J country boot, or a rider/alden in shell cordovan /w rubber sole. I am in Canada, and for really bad/cold weather I have a pair of Pajar boots, which...

    Affordable Over the Calf Socks

Recently received socks in Canada from Viccel less than 10 days after ordering. I must say that they are much better than expected. They are among the most comfortable I have worn, especially around the upper calf. The Cotton is very fine and silky smooth. If you are looking for a fine cotton...

Short Leather Jacket (can shirts hang lower?)

I think it depends on the jacket, and the look you are going for. In terms of classical menswear, I definitely wouldn't, but if that is the desired look you are going for I doubt the jacket would be incredibly short to begin with. One of the short jackets in my wardrobe is the 'racing blouson'...

    Rain foot wear Canada

Try contacting this seller on ebay http://myworld.ebay.ca/countryattire/ He has significantly lower prices than in Canada, free worldwide shipping, and is an official stockist so is probably able to get you whatever colour/size you want.

What to wear to Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, ON

I've been to Stratford many times. People tend to dress in anything from cargo shorts and t-shirt to suit and tie. Three piece or tux would be too much. I agree with odd trousers + jacket if you want to look good without being overdressed.

    Special care necessary for deerskin?

In the way of care products I have found that nothing special is needed with deerskin, but beware that it is much more fragile than calf. Harsh treatment will damage it more easily.

    Computer Bag

Have you checked out the Holts on Bloor? They have a nice selection of men's bags in your price range. Last time I was looking for a laptop bag I saw plenty similar to what you are looking for there. If you want to save a few dollars you could find one you like, then buy it online for less.

Boot for slush, snow, rain and salt

Leather shoes can be made resistant to water, but nothing will stay looking good if used in very wet conditions all the time. Your best option is to get galoshes/overshoes. The mobster model by swims would work well with shoes or boots. http://www.swims.com/ Wear them to school, then take them...
