Jacket/coat for going to office work?
If you have a dress code which requires a tie, then a jacket is hardly out of place. Tie without a jacket is a solecism. My advice: blazer. It is more casual (than a suit) and goes with (nearly) everything. You don't need any special level of importance to wear a blazer, even in California...- HKTenor
