Removing shine from shoes?
Thank you both. Yeah, I was hoping that fine grain was referring to a form of full grain given the specs, but I guess given the price point and high gloss that it's probably corrected grain with some sort of plasticky coating instead of wax.- HanEyeAm

Removing shine from shoes?

Thank you! Yes, wing-tips may be in my future. I have an affordable (J&M) pair of derbys, but they have a soft square toe and look dated. I rarely wear black but need a good pair in my stable!- HanEyeAm

Thanks folks, I think I have very good replies! I also thought they were out of style and make feet look shorter (they are comfortable, though!). I don't wear shoes in the house and have no need for kick-about-the-property shoes, so I'm passing them to the thrift store. Thanks again!- HanEyeAm

Waterproofing boots
Jumping in here with a related question! I just bought these J&M Baird chukkas and they have an "oiled full-grain leather" upper (https://www.sierra.com/product/index/786vr/?colorFamily=01&itemCode=786VR-01-8.5-M). Where should i go to buy my suit?
I've had good experiences in recent years with customer service at MW, but it depends on the store. Taking a look at department stores like Macy's is okay as well in your price range. You likely won't come out looking like Daniel Craig but can find an affordable suit that looks sharp for...- HanEyeAm

I hope an actual tailor chimes in- I would like to know! I don't recall seeing a side pic. Could the wrinkling behind the you mentioned be due to the sleeve angle? If you bring your arms a little forward or back, does the wrinkle disappear?- HanEyeAm

(Not a tailor) Posture aside, it looks like your frame is somewhat "hippy." Those suits emphasize, or make it look like, your hips are wider than your shoulders. That is, in part, expressed through the x pattern in the front when you button it , ie, the bottom of the jacket doesn't hang...- HanEyeAm

(Not a tailor) A little long by typical measure of arm length, but it seems well balanced with your overall height (I assume it covers your butt and the vents don't flair). I think it looks very good.- HanEyeAm
