Wow body proportions is fascinating. The 38 fits fairly well with only mild tailoring. I do wish the shoulders would be 1/4 inch narrower. Based on that, I think the medium would work for you if you wear 40.

Now time to ask for some opinions! Thanks in advance. Menswear novice here who is looking to build out a small wardrobe. I work in a professional setting where most people dress on the casual side, so I'm leaning towards the casual spectrum of menswear. A BROWN fall/winter sports coat seems...

There have been some questions about fit on the Chunky Cardigan, so I thought I would post my experience as I ordered in both the SMALL and MEDIUM. I wear 38R contemporary sports coat. I'm 173cm (5 foot 8?) and around 75kg (165lbs?) Because they are so chunky, I think it's all about...

Thanks for the reply! The Bottoli green donegal isn't may not be the most versatile but as green is one of my colours, I have added this to my rotation. Due to this, I think a brown tweed is probably a good next as step as it is quite versatile (as per the permanent style article that was...

Looks great! I'm waiting on my navy to arrive here. I ordered in both a small and medium as I wasn't sure on my sizing and returns are so easy.

I am in a similar situation as the original poster you responded to. I have added a navy hopsack and green Donegal sport coat. Based on your advice, I'm really thinking of a dark brown herringbone. Any word on if SM will drop any RTW for this season? There very appealing options on their MTO...

I have only recently started wearing mid rise so wearing trousers just below my belly button is new. So do SM trousers sit lower than other brands high rise? Yes, I started to realize that I'm standing out at my work place so trying to figure out where I can dial back a bit.

I wore side tab high rise with double pleats flannel trousers yesterday and I felt very much like Urkel yesterday. The jacket wasn't worn 95% of the day yesterday as I was in the office. I'll have to see if I can get used to it. How many times did you try the trousers before moving on?

Thanks! I didn't need much more convincing! I ordered in the cream cords. Was planning to sleep on it but one of the two sizes I was planning on already sold out. Hope the 32 slim fits! I've read through some thread but not all, anyone with the navy or green Donegal sports coats? I'm thinking...

I'm new to menswear but I'm very tempted to try out the cream corduroys trousers. Any advice, opinions? It seems like it would be easy to match and might be a good fit for my casual tailoring style I'm going for. Ie cream cords, Navy donegal blazer, longwings/PTBs, OCBD/denim shirt, no tie.

I'm very new to the world of tailoring, so I am learning to see how detailed orientated to get about fit, etc. This is the contemporary - 38R. I guess an option would be to try the 40 in slim..... Thanks! That's another way of how I would put it. My shoulder natural position is to bit back...

Thanks for the quote by jefferyd. Makes sense as the Neapolitan jacket which is 0.2 inches larger in shoulder width than the non-Neo jacket which I happen to be trying for the first time. I put on the jacket again and noticed that I can the divots disappear when my shoulders are in slight...

Thanks! That is a great suggestion, I will look into doing that before I consider a return.

Thanks! I'm leaning towards the shoulder width causing this. A bummer as I'm thinking of returning it now. Is there a difference in the shoulder structure between this and their Neapolitan? Shoulder width is 0.2 inch larger on the Neo and I find that my Neo jacket doesn't do this.
