MH71 I size up in, but I have a wide foot. So I'm 10.5UK in that last and a 10UK in EG 202 doesn't work for me. Interestingly, I have a strong preference for a sole where the outsole/welt are visible (I prefer rubber vs. leather in this last).- Girardian

My objection to inferno grills is captured above. Not all grilled items benefit from such high heat. Perhaps these have evolved since I looked at them years ago (my grill is built in to a 12,000 lb concrete architectural enclosure so I am "committed"), but I would not want to grill everything...- Girardian

I do not. I have a 48" Viking grill. My thermoworks thermometer does max out at 700 degrees, but this is ambient across the entire grill. Full closed peak temp unknown.- Girardian

On the topic of SV vs. reverse sear, I use a combination technique with tomahawk steaks that works very well -- essentially you SV to the desired RS temp and then finish on the firey grill. Renders more fat than typical with the SV / hot iron skillet method. I tend to feel most SV + grill...- Girardian

Cleaning pebble train shoes - advice sought
I have a pair of tan pebble grain cap toe boots that suffered an incident with dishsoap (straight up Dawn spewed like Jackson Pollock over them, and I didn't notice until later). I've done the Saphir Reno-Mat job and then a cream polish, but there's still some discoloration. Any suggestions...- Girardian

Desert Chukka boot paired with Jeans
Pair suede with suede or pebble with pebble or flat with flat leather in your boots / belt, where possible. Also match general shade if possible. When you get obsessive, you can turn to matching your watch bands as well.- Girardian
