I assume a "SF approved" garment is a bit of a joke when I see fit pics of Spier and Mackay on a regular basis. I have tried some things from them and have not been impressed. Everything has ended up at the Salvation Army. Corners cut to meet a low price point. Does this mean if it is cheap...- Ed13

Recent purchases - Part II
Decided to cut body fat down to around 12-14%. Went from around a dozen pair of jeans to one that I could still wear. BF I picked up some Iron Heart jeans. Went with 14oz indigo, overdye black and slubby 1955's in 16oz. Had a couple of pairs of 21oz but stopped wearing them before the weight...- Ed13

Any love for Allen Edmonds Park Ave Sneakers here?
I stopped by a shoe store a couple of months ago on my way to pick up lunch. Looked at some pairs of these hybrid sneaker/dress shoes. Could not see myself ever wearing these with tailored clothing or anything else. It would make me feel that I just gave up in life.- Ed13

Twill vs. hopsack for business suit
I personally like sharkskin fabrics. Only issue I have for a first suit, they can have a two tone affect. My first two business suits were a mid grey twill and a dark navy subtle herringbone. Between the two I was covered for work, weddings and funerals.- Ed13

Twill vs. hopsack for business suit
I am assuming you have a limited suit collection since you want the suit for year round use. If this is the case I would go for twill fabric. It may not be exciting but will look presentable pretty much anywhere a business suit is needed.- Ed13

Went the first time to the store to order a pair of Edward Green shoes seven years ago and have not bothered to go anywhere else since. Sad to see Ken, Marylou and Phillip retire. Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?
The labeled size of both Nelson jackets were 42 but one jacket was much smaller in the body. Just assumed the variance was a result of one jacket was cut or sewn slightly different than the other. I was interested in a J-100 in brown but do not want to deal with ordering and hassle to return...- Ed13

My experience has not been the same as yours. When I purchased my 30's Nelson jacket I went with a size 42. The store had 2 in stock, one jacket I could barely get on my body while the second won't supply storage for any tennis balls but does zip up and allows necessary movement. Wanted a...- Ed13

Kiton Jeans - Maybe something you've never considered
I have a pair of brown Kiton jeans. Two of my favourite summer pants are both 5 pocket jean cut, one in blue linen and the other in light weight grey wool. Purchased Kiton shirts from Isuit numerous times over the years.- Ed13

Got a pair of 21oz Iron Hearts 634s last year and find them comfortable to wear. Start out stiff but so much softer after a wash. Will wear lighter weight Levis on the hottest most humid days. Prefer to keep my jeans dark so wash inside out on hand wash cycle, hang to dry and then throw them...- Ed13

Heschung Thuya VS Paraboot Michael - the ultimate shoedown for some ugly shoes (sizing, style, etc).
Recently got a pair of ERKN with black pony hair on top. Thicker sole than the Michaels and very comfortable. Have only worn them a few times and will have to wait to see if they hold up well.- Ed13
