I subscribe the school of impulse-buying when it comes to ties as well. Love the Kenzo's and the Abelard!

AE PAs not able to lace up properly...

My PAs just arrived. Size 10D, fit perfectly in the length, ankle, and ball of my foot. Unfortunately, I'm a little flat footed, and my foot is a little "fat" around that area. As a result, I'm unable to lace up the PAs properly... there is a 1/2" to 3/4" gap at the top of the laces. Wrong size...

    Cars Widely Considered Gay

So my black convertible 3er BMW, with wide tires qualifies as a gay car or a macho man car ? Correct me if I'm wrong - but those are stock "sports package rims", and thus don't qualify as "wide". You should be able to push them another .5-1" wider without any problem, 'specially with the lower...

    the north face

If you want top of the line technical outerwear, you're better off going with Arc Teryx, Patagonia, Marmot, or Mountain Hardwear these days. +1. From a technical standpoint my North Face gear is decent, but noticeably inferior to the lesser priced gear from Marmot and Mountain Hardwear. I've...

    Undershirts

Does anyone wear silk weight capilene or polypropoline as an undershirt? I never wear undershirts because I don't like the bulk, but it seems as though these might work well. Not so sure how the capilene would work as an undershirt with a suit - as it'd transfer the sweat in the form of water...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

So, I have a creasing problem with my yearling crafstmen. No worries - these alternate as my casual boots, however, I also have a pair of the yearling forum model coming in whiskey, and I'd like to avoid the same creasing problem. Do any of you have suggestions as to how I might avoid this...

    CEGO shirts...

Another satisfied CEGO customer. Fine product at the price point. +1. I have 10 shirts from Carl, and love them all. The fabric selection is very nice, with a healthy mix of conservative colors as well as the occasional oddball for your wilder side. We had to work through a couple fittings...

How obsessive are you about shoe trees?

BTW, athletic shoes need trees just as much as street shoes, maybe more. It really extends their usefull life and you'll never find that your running shoes are still damp from the previous days workout. Given that a regular running workout will burn through the soles/cushioning on a pair of...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Hello - just took a look at Steve's website to place an order, and noticed a new color for the comfort craftsmen: silt. Has anyone seen this color yet (is it a seasonal color?), or, better yet, does anyone have pictures? Thanks.

pink shirts...your take? How many have them?

I think pink is a great color. It is best accented by a healthy tan. +1 1 pink shirt, 3 lavendar ... while I like pink I much prefer lavendar :-)

Recommendations for Tailor etc. in Paris

Could anyone offer a recommendation for a tailor (simple repairs to a jacket lining), a cobbler (simple resoling), and / or a drycleaner/launderer in Paris. I'm in the 3rd, so a launderer near Temple would be great - the others warrant a further journey. Thanks!

Why do some dress shoes and boots have toes that point up?

I can't speak for others, but I know I use my toes too much while walking (it's a bad habit developed from years of relying on the front toe-cleat in baseball). Consequently the upturned soles wear significantly less along the front edge than do relatively flat soles (such as my AE's or RMW's)...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Does anyone have any photos that they can post of the whiskey colored craftsman boots? Oh, as for sizing, 10.5D AE PA, 9.5G RMW Craftsman -- and the RMW's fit so nicely that I'm now salivating over different styles and colors.

    Durable luggage recommendations

I wouldn't recommend either, they'll both be ruined in short order. What would you recommend instead? Purchasing a much cheaper piece and replacing it every so often?
