    Florsheim Royal Imperial question

The plain imperial line had the green stitching too. Of course, there isn't much difference between the imperial and royal other than lasts. I hope you understand what I mean by this pic. Attachment 59367

    Florsheim Royal Imperial question

The heels have 2 V cleats in each, rather than the standard (or what I assumed was the standard) 1 cleat per heel. Anyone ever seen this before? Yes. But a remarkable point is not the 2 V cleats but the top line stitching(green line). Your shoes are extremely rare. Attachment 59366

    A Tour of Northampton

Thanks for amazing posts! I don't think so. I believe it had a different name, but I can't recall what it was. I asked Tony G. what the "feather" is and he said it was not so much a part but an area: It's a rib/an insole rib, right? Only the bespoke makers...

any more pictures?? Here are; http://konylog.com/archives/2007/03/...r_shoes_1.html http://konylog.com/archives/2007/05/...r_shoes_2.html very competitive with JL RTW prices. however, there does seem to be a very marked drop off in finish and last for these compared to his bespoke. MTM is...

In Search of the Shoe Care Grail

I like the shine of a wax polish but dislike the way it cracks in the creases. You might rub a wax too much. I use it only on toes and heels and I do not rub it on a creasing area. Can you point me to this procedure? thanks, Here is a movie with saphir wax. It is fairly good, gives a good...

Can someone please tell me about these Polo Shoes?

They have asterisk marks(*) on sole edges and seem to be made by Stefanobi. Berluti RTW made by Stefanobi used to have asterisk marks, too. Attachment 4472 This pic is from http://www.ralphlauren.com/largeImag...andard_t85.jpg Do they have wavy rubber inserts...

How do you get the smell out of shoes?

Baking soda absorbs odors and moisture, but does not kill bacteria. So we need to use an odor killer containing rubbing alcohol.

Who made these Brooks English shoes?

http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...lt_color=Black which look very much like these: http://www.pediwear.co.uk/detail.php?stock_ID=466 But the "non-VAT" price works out to about $265.00 or so at current exchange rates, compared to the BB retail price of $428.00. Now I know the short answer...

Who made these Brooks English shoes?

They do, actually. I never would have noticed this otherwise. Does this confirm the Cheaney hypothesis? Yes. Some shoemakers have stamps on the center of insoles. Cheaney : "MADE IN ENGLAND LEATHER INSOLES" Alfred Sargent : "REAL LEATHER" C&J : "size width" in figures, for example "81/2 5"...

Who made these Brooks English shoes?

The thing that really throws me for a loop is that the rubber part of the heel doesn't have that "claw" shape--it's just flat on the inside edge. If Cheaney makes a last 911 last, though, then this is probably it. These are Royal Tweed by Cheaney. I judged by typeface and "last/width size" on...
