Depending on options, I could be interested in either an Arran, an Antibes or a Canterbury GMTO.

    JM Weston appreciation thread

I have had similar experiences with JM Weston 180s: They are rather tough to break in (almost all JM Weston shoes are to me for that matter). I have a high instep and I have an issue which seems to be similar to that you describe. But once broken in, they are some of my most comfortable...

@clee1982, thank you much for this summary! - Last: I am pretty open regarding the last (although I would prefer something else than chisel 2 or mayfair - I have quite a few pairs on these two lasts already). - Color: I am in for the burgundy/oxblood.

@ThunderMarch, that sounds like a good compromise. A darken tostato would work for me.

Below are my preferences on the three items on which there seems to be no consensus yet. Contrast: I’d definitely prefer with the pin grain contrast if the shoes came in a lighter shade of brown. But, not having it would not be a deal breaker if the shoes came in a very dark shade of brown...

@ThunderMarch, Thank you for your prompt reply. I thought that with my ever growing rotation my passion would start to wind down, but, it is not the case. And just like you, I am still very much into shoes. Your remark about your discovering new makers makes me curious, and I would be very...

@ThunderMarch, it is nice to hear from you, and, I hope you have been well too. I am interested in this GMTO. I wonder if there would be any interest for mondo nero red (see right below). Otherwise, I would prefer a very dark brown. I would also prefer no captoe. The chisel 2 works for...
