Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures)

My initial reaction was that it is close to the EG 82 last. A touch more symmetrical I think, but the toe width is very similar.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

I had to experiment a bit but finally got the 184 to fit generally well. I’ve tried a 9F and a 9.5E and prefer the latter after a bit of stretching to the instep. My secret as to how? Put in shoe trees and wedge 2 plastic shoehorns under the instep between the shoe and shoe tree. Stack the...

We definitely are because I started with a pair EG Inverness and wanted something darker. Lol.

I actually know the feeling all too well. This is my second attempt at a dark burgundy wingtip. The first was an EG Malvern in nightshade that came out too small. That was really disappointing after waiting 4 months for them to be made. G&G oxfords in any of their 4 non deco lasts fit me...

Proper Cloth - Official Affiliate Thread

One thing that has always frustrated me is the refund process for an item purchased with a bit of store credit and real money. The store credit always seems to disappear during a refund and I have to send many emails to get the store credit back. Oy.

No, because there are days when I want a brown oxford back to back and we all know not to wear the same shoe 2 days in a row. That being said, the Berkley was purchased at a very good price and I probably wouldn't have purchased it if it was full price.

I have a pair of Chelseas and a pair of Berkleys in DOAK but both are on the 82 last. It's just preferable to me for an oxford.

It's bit wider on the forefoot, but I think the important part is that the instep is also a bit higher. The vamp is also lower on your foot, which also provides a bit more room for the instep. Higher instep people would probably have a bit more success on the 137.

I still go to the office everyday but don't wear a suit everyday (or anywhere close). Accordingly, my purchases have really just transitioned to loafers, split toes, and boots.
