    The late afternoon wedding...

Thank you for the input. My date is part of the bridal party and said I don't have to go to the actual wedding, I can just show up for the reception. Is this a trap? That sounds like it'd be exceptionally rude to the wedding party, me being a complete stranger and all.

    The late afternoon wedding...

I have a late afternoon wedding to which I was invited and know no one there but my date, whom I've only recently met. I unfortunately don't have any suits I like (/in before you complain on a non-point) but will be wearing slacks and a jacket. Either dark brown windowpane or grey wool slacks...

    Recent Sartorialist Looks

I think the Sartorialist is just photographing people who look like **** on purpose. Hopefully for a gag piece, Sasha Baron Cohen style. Get people to dress up in what they think is smart and different, tell them how photo worthy it is, then publish a piece blasting them for being blind and...

Protocol for working with a blazer?

Okay guys, I am wearing it sitting down. (it's unbuttoned, don't worry) So far so good.

Protocol for working with a blazer?

2 button single breasted jackets. In navy or dark brown. Some curdory, brushed cotton, or blazer (like a suit-seperate)

    GQ America's Forum Awful?

I get GQ, Details, and Esquire. They're all fairly boring and I subscribe only for the pictures. Across them all, there are some months I literally laugh out loud at how God aweful some of the looks and advice are. And the whole "take a picture of me jumping in this suit" schtick is...

Protocol for working with a blazer?

What is the protocol for seated work and blazers? Do I have to take it off before I sit at my computer and work? Is it weird if I wear it all day? Normally I'll wear them to and from work in the cooler periods, but have never thought about wearing one all day.

recommend me a black dress vest?

The fly is button. I just have a very large penis.

recommend me a black dress vest?

Express also sells vests but are overpriced and boxy. I would stick with Kenneth Cole and J.Crew as they're much slimmer cut and can be had at deep discount if you time it right. This is probably more streetwear than mens style.

recommend me a black dress vest?

I have a handful of vests (waistcoats) and the look you're going for is quite simple to do and people respond really well to it. First though - you cannot wear black slacks and a black vest unless they are part of the same suit. If you bought a 3-piece suit you can do this, otherwise, don't...

    Business casual and black shirts

There is no instance (before 5pm) when navy cannot be substituted for black. It will always look classier and like you actually put some thought into your choosings. Black just screams; "I don't know what the **** I'm doing"

How Do You Fight The Urge?

I typically buy it with a credit card and then let it sit for a few days. This way I don't miss the sale or someone else taking it, and I've brought the garment home where I can think about it. Most times the "score" (purchase and pocket) is half the fun. Once it's hanging in your closet for a...

    3 button problem

I have one 3-button corduroy blazer that I purchased years ago. I've acquired 7 other various blazers and sport coats over the years but for the life of me, cannot purchase another 3-button. It's 2-button or I don't buy it. Sometimes I find myself relieved that a jacket I like is 3-buttons, it's...

I do not understand women's shoes

I can see women's shoes and quickly decide if I like them. I can sort of see them on display and decide if I like them. But usually not, then they almost always look too loud and respulsive. But that's another matter.... What I cannot do is understand why one pair of heels costs $1000 and...

    Chicago

I live in Naperville which is about 15 minutes from the Aurora Outlet Mall. That seems to be all the amount of time that mall is worth driving for. There's really nothing of quality there, despite the multitute of store names. The only places I regularly find things are J.Crew and Banana...
