just a quick comment ... its a leather one. They usually had a tag on the pocket flap, like the denim ones but its white with red writing (unlike the cord ones which were white with black). Its cut slightly different but mostly due to it being leather, which is too bulky, compared to denim for...- buttons

That's Big Ray from Whitley Bay, 1974 (mind you, if I wasn't told, I would have said a bit earlier). It does look like him in the lower pic (this is from '79-80 so very unlikely) but if it was, that would have been a mob of giants!- buttons
