Best all-around dress/work shoe
These are very, very high on my wish list. If I had normal-size feet then I would have bought a pair in the end-of-year sales. As it stands, it seems that I am probably limited to Alden, Carmina, and Allen Edmonds to get these boots in a narrow size. Here I must say that shelling out (ha ha!)...- apack

Best all-around dress/work shoe
For an academic setting, I would still avoid plain black captoes, as they will probably get very little wear. So, unless you *need* formal shoes for a wedding or other similar event, I would buy something more interesting in black. There is a good overview of standard options at...- apack
