    Alden Color 8 PCT Barrie 9D by J Crew

    Selling a pair of brand new Alden shell cordovan color 8 cap toe boots. These boots were made for J Crew, on the Barrie last in a size 9D. No longer available with the black flat welt as they have moved to an antique storm welt for this boot. Boots have never been worn, includes box and bags.

    I find the same with Alden boots. My suede boots are the tightest fitting of all my boots, shell the loosest. Works fine in the boots but with the loafers, the suede is just too small.

    I do wear different sizes in the Van LHS depending on material. Typically a 9D in Barrie and TB, tried that in the LHS and it works in shell, but too small in suede. Had to go to a 9.5D in suede to make them work. Comes down to how tight the material will fit on the last. I found 9D in suede...

    Little bit of sanding followed by some edge dressing gets them back into shape nicely. Sometimes just the dressing is enough to make them look decent.

    The antique can always be changed to dark/black if you want to later on. Not so easy to go from dark to antique.
