Because I have bought a thousand ties this summer, I've got to do some closet cleaning to be a responsible person. Unfortunately, this means letting go of a tie I love dearly, which is this amazing, gossamer-yet-substantial silk-linen Japenese grenadine tie. I'm told that this is not technically a grenadine because it's not woven in Italy. Call it an open weave silk-linen tie, Regardless, it's beautiful, and because there's 30% linen in the weave, there's a brightness to the colorway that takes it from a fairly regular blue-red repp to something incredibly beautiful, navigating the middle ground between traditional and striking. The spacing of the design, too, means that it works with patterns as well as solids. Worn 4-5 times. Kept in a pet-free, smoke-free home in a cedar-lined closet. 3.25" x 59".
