I wouldn’t be selling these but I‘m going to Beijing for a semester-long Chinese language course that starts in a few weeks and haven’t quite got the money to cover tuition and accommodation just yet. I might be an idiot but ?♂️
So anyway,
These are some of the finest boots out there. A limited run, part of a special make capsule collection for Epaulet some years ago, you probably won’t see a lot of these out there, and certainly not in this shape.
These are the Steinbeck boot, featuring a half stud sole and speed hooks, but otherwise the same as the Sinclair as featured in Esquire who wrote of them:
“Some objects simply cripple us, Gollum-like. We are compelled to have them, all reason aside. Look, then, upon these burgundy shell cordovan wingtip boots with caution. Crafted especially for stylish NYC boutique Epaulet by illustrious Spanish shoemaker Carmina, a family-owned brand whose know-how dates back to 1866, these things will seriously elevate your footwear game. Shell cordovan (that long-tanned leather taken from a horse's rump) is notoriously luxurious, and notoriously pricey. But it's also hardy — and that, combined with recraftable Goodyear-welted soles, means you could conceivably own these suckers for the rest of your time here on planet Earth... And that's how a pair of $900 shoes can start to look like a bargain. The gorgeous dark burgundy color and handsome wingtip detailing sure don't hurt, either. As they're part of a capsule collection, don't count on them to hang around long, or be reproduced.”
If you’re not tempted yet, have a look through the photos.
These boots are finished with great details such as a slim stud half sole for added traction and durability, speed hooks toward the top of the shaft, pull tabs at the top backs, and a gorgeous, unique purple leather lining.
Made on Carmina’s classic and widely popular Forest last.
Labeled a size 9 - Epaulet said on the relevant StyleForum thread that these are UK sized so recommends sizing down one, so they SHOULD fit a US 10 but please do not purchase if you are unsure of your size on this last because I will not accept returns for fit issues. Approximate outsole measurements-
- Heel to toe: 12.5in
- Width at widest part of foot: 4.5in
