Buttero is a small footwear company based in the Tuscan hills that makes stunning shoes from premium Italian vegetable tanned leather. The Tanino sneaker is their most popular model, and combines extraordinarily thick and supple leather with the hard-wearing Margom sole in a sleek silhouette. This particular shade of leather is called “papaya,” and it is gorgeously rich, and will age beautifully. I’ve now owned 4 pairs of Taninos in different makeups, and phased out all of my Common Projects.
Retail $310. As you can see from photos, I’ve worn them a decent amount. Because of the thickness of the leather and soles, these have a huge amount of wear left in them, but cosmetically there are some scuffs and scratches, so I've priced accordingly.
Tagged EU41 but consensus is that Buttero fits a size large, so these are best if you are a true US9 or EU42.
