For sale is a pair of Alden Color 8 Pebble Grain Shell Cordovan LHS (Leisure Handsewn) Penny Loafers in size 8D on the Van last. These are Alden style #6755 and are now discontinued as Alden no longer uses Pebble Grain Shell Cordovan. These will not be made again and are exceptionally rare. Based on the production codes and the box, I believe these are from 1992. While they are worn, they are beautiful and extremely rare. They have been worn a good amount, so there are rolls in the vamps, scuffs on the uppers, and wear on the soles. I believe the outsole has been replaced with a waterloc outsole by Lakota House in Japan. The heel pads also appear to have been replaced. There are some small cracks in the shell on the rear upper heel bindings. I spoke to Nick Horween (of Horween Leather, the tannery who makes the shell cordovan used on these shoes), and he advised that it is unlikely to get worse if a shoe horn is used when putting on the shoes. There is also a small tear under the penny where the topline attaches to the penny, and the stitching is fraying. The insoles and linings are also worn. Please see photos for current condition. They come with the original Alden green box and Alden shoe bags. (The Alden tote bag is not included.) I cannot accept returns, so please know your size. Sold as-is. Shipping to the USA only. SOLD |
