SOLD
PAUL EVANS, oxblood Brando semi-brogues
BRAND NEW, including original box, shoe bag and metal shoe horn
Labeled size 11, which is roughly US size 12D (I wear 12D-12.5D in Allen Edmonds and these are a perfect fit).
The P-E website confirms that one should take a full size down in these shoes.
Ver nice hand-painted Italian leather, beautifully tanned leather soles.
Paul Evans' most iconic model in their most iconic color, with sleek hand-burnishing
Straight out of the box, never even tried on.
I ordered them with another pair of oxbloods (Cagney II) a while back and decided I really don't need two oxblood P-E oxfords, as beautiful as they are! The other pair is also P-E size 11, thus I know these would fit exactly the same.
I know there is some discussion on SF concerning Paul Evans' quality and value for price. I've been wearing my other P-E oxbloods for a while now and believe they are worth at most $300 (not their $400 full retail price). I mostly wear aniline leather, including Carmina, Allen Edmonds and Lobb, so I was unsure of what I would think of their Italian crust leather. After nearly six months, the oxblood color on my Cagneys has retained its depth, achieved a nice patina and creasing has not been a problem (about on par with AE). I simply give them a vigorous buffing for 30-60 seconds or so in the morning to bring back the shine. I might give them a little Saphir black wax polish sometime soon to more fully replenish the shine and bring out the darker hue. Paul Evans offers good instructions on how best to take care of their leather, but they are pretty low maintenance so far. Their oxblood truly is a handsome shade. I'd just rather sell this redundant pair to pay for a different shoe I need.
Retail price is $400. P-E often offers $50 and $100 discounts, and I picked this pair up with the latter, for $300.
I just don't need them and am willing to take a little hit, so my loss is your gain--$220, a better price than P-E ever seems to offer, and lower than I'm pricing them on eBay.
Definitely worth $220. ENJOY!
