Ferdinando Caraceni Charcoal Suit 40R (SOLD)

Ferdinando Caraceni Charcoal Suit 40R (SOLD)

Hi Gents,

Up for offer is chance to own a rare bespoke charcoal SB suit from Ferdinando Caraceni, one of the oldest/prestigious and most expensive tailoring houses from Milan. The atelier is run by Nicoletta Caraceni, daughter of Ferdinando Caraceni, who started Domenico – but was, more importantly, the cutter for Domenico and then Augusto for 29 years; he is somewhat a maestro in the field of tailoring.

The charcoal SB is a 2B with double vents, while the trousers are pleated with turn ups.The condition is excellent for its commission from 2000, except for what I think is a small patch (moth bite maybe?) on the trousers. Not really noticeable considering that the colour is charcoal and I have enclosed a picture of this in the last photo. If you are particular you can also bring this down to invisible menders to have it fixed. Not many people own a Caraceni suit - commissioning starts from €5,500 (~$6,400) and upwards (Liverano territory):

The size is approximately a 40R/EU50, but please follow the approximate measurements to ensure a closer fit:

Approximate Measurements

Jacket:
Pit to Pit - 53 cm
Shoulder to Shoulder - 45 cm
Length from Bottom of Collar - 77 cm
Sleeve from Shoulder Edge: 62.5 cm

Trousers:

Total Length: 107 cm
Front Rise: 33 cm

Simon Crompton describes Caraceni's house style as follows: "It is a very flattering and remarkably modern style. It has the softness of much modern tailoring (sitting between even the drape styles of London and the ultra-soft of Naples), but with a relatively wide, slightly bellied lapel. The modern look is also achieved through a suppressed waist and slightly open foreparts (below the waist button)."
- you can see one of his commissions here: "https://www.permanentstyle.com/2015/07/ferdinando-caraceni-bespoke-cashmere-jacket.html"

Sale does not come with the Caraceni hanger due to weight, but I can throw the complete set (inclusive of the Caraceni suit bag and hanger) for an additional $50 if requested. Shipping internationally from Singapore for $600 + shipping (around $50 with FedEx, depending on location).
