Up for sale are four incredible shirts made by Gitman Brothers in Ashland, PA for Epaulet. These shirts are three of my favorites, and I'm only selling them because I've unfortunately grown out of them (literally; such is the fate of gym-goers). Gitman, as many of you will know, selects its fabrics meticulously and only offers the highest quality possible. Most of these fabrics are from Italy or Japan. My understanding is that all of them are deadstock.
All were purchased new for $165-$195, and have been stored in a cedar-lined closet in a smoke-free and pet-free home. The prices below reflect my desire to move these shirts, and I'll happily entertain offers for multiple shirts. Please PM me for details.
Fourth, a wonderful warm weather shirt done in an incredible deadstock Japanese buffalo check fabric. The cotton is gauzy and open, and done with a perfect color mixture. The design and fabrication here work perfectly together. If there were a perfect shirt for sunny days, this would be it. It works great tucked in or untucked, worn with shorts or with pants. I think the photos speak for themselves. Worn 3-4 times. Mother of pearl buttons. Tagged Epaulet fit Small, which is a true Small.

First, getting my favorite of the bunch out of the way: this shirt is made of a beautiful red-navy check that I believe was used in a Thom Browne collection way back when. The fabric is a perfect four season weight, though the color tone means you probably won't wear it in July in Nantucket -- but every other time and location ain't bad. The hand on this fabric is exceptional. Also, the collar rests on your chest when you wear the shirt (i.e. when it's not on a hanger). I think only sixteen units of this shirt were made, so it's a real find. Smoke mother of pearl buttons finish it off. Worn 6-7 times, hence the lower price. Tagged Ashland Small, which is a slim Medium in most fits.

Second, if push came to shove, this is likely the most luxe fabric of the foursome (to take nothing away from the other fabrics; they're all amazing). This Italian fabric is the softest sport shirt fabric I have ever felt in my life. The coloration is a bit brighter than the previous shirt, and the checks are more defined. It's incredibly versatile. If, like me, you like wearing button-down collar shirts underneath sweaters, too, it's nice to have a lighter weight fabric so you don't overheat. In all, it's a versatile shirt that is truly a four season shirt. Mother of pearl buttons. Worn 3-4 times. Tagged Ashland Small, which is a slim Medium in most fits.

Third, a solid, but a great one. This shirt is made of a natural indigo yarn-dyed chambray woven in Japan. Unlike most chambrays made in this process, though, this fabric is incredibly soft. It's a perfect indigo tone with just a slight smoky cast that makes it wearable with other blues and indigos as well as any other color you might choose. One interesting quality of the fabric, too, is that it has a very subtle vertical streakiness in its texture when exposed to direct sunlight. It's tough to capture this in photos, but it makes for a solid that is texturally sophisticated and versatile at once. The real kicker here is the famous Gitman Sartorial Cutaway collar, which I still think is the best collar around. It rests on your chest when you wear it (i.e. when it is not on a hanger), and it looks equally great with a tie as it does worn open. It's sizable enough to fit underneath jacket lapels, but it's not so big that if you wear it on its own that it would call attention to itself. It's perfect. This shirt is perfect. I so wish it still fit me. Worn 3-4 times. Mother of pearl buttons. Tagged Ashland Small, which is a slim Medium in most fits.
