Barbour x Norton & Sons Barra waxed cotton jacket

SOLD

DESCRIPTION

FW 2013 Barbour collab with Saville Row's Norton & Sons. Waxed cotton in tan sandstone color, made in UK. MSRP $650

Size XL Measurements:

Chest: 24.5" (pit to pit)
Length 29" (bottom of collar to bottom of jacket)
Sleeve: 25.75 (shoulder seam to end of sleeve)

Originally sold for $650, this is in great condition, worn sparingly with no visible wear, stains or damage of any kind. Great collaboration between these two fine English makers with some very interesting details.

Aged/vintage wax but not distressed
Fine wale, almost velvet corduroy Collar
Chin Strap
Eyelet vented underarm
Bespoke Cotton Lining and Internal Set Up
Leather Reinforcement at Pockets
Hidden Horn Button Closure
Two Flap Covered Welt Pockets
Several internal pockets
Canvas Trimmed Cuffs
Button Secured Center Vent
Button side adjuster at waist
Button adjustable cuffs
Made in England

For reference regarding fit, I have a Beaufort in 44 which fits like a classic Barbour, not slim, plenty of room for layering. I sized down to a Bedale in 42 which is perfect without layering. Fits a bit slimmer. I also have a Lightweight Sapper in XL.

The Barra in XL fits me well, not snug but not billowy. There's enough room to layer. The material feels a bit heavier than the standard 6oz waxed cotton jackets. It's more canvas feeling than the cotton found in the traditional Barbours (Beaufort, Bedale, etc.). It's about the same weight as a similarly sized Barbour International.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
