These shoes are incredible, it kills me to sell them, but the truth is that I just do not wear them as much anymore.
They have been extremely well maintained and have already begun to develop an absolutely gorgeous patina. They have been previously worn and never resoled but they were Topy-ed so the original sole and welt are in good shape! As you want to, you can re-Topy or remove the Topy and use the original sole! The upper cleans up beautifully with a good brushing, I continue to be impressed every time I handle them.
The Shortwing Blucher is not exclusive to Alden, in fact it’s been in production in the US and UK for many years. Alden of New England has perfected the use of shell cordovan in making the SWB. One of the ways they do that is by using cordovan tanned only by Horween Leather Company in Chicago Illinois. The most classic longwing you can find is made with Horween’s rich Color 8 Cordovan.
