Question (first posted by @kaxixi ): What is slub? Selvedge?
Answer (first posted by @Tarmac ): Slub is the random knottiness of the fabric itself that comes from inconsistencies and knots in the constituent yarns.
Selvedge is the self-finishing edge on the outseam. Selvedge in itself is almost meaningless, however almost all repro (reproduction) brands use it on some or all of their lines.
