From the editor:

Twice a year, carnage descends on Florence. Pitti Uomo, the largest gathering of pocket squares in the world, takes place in the heart of a city best known for its beautiful streets and extensive collections of paintings of naked religious figures. For four long days, the fashion cognoscenti stumble along the cobblestones, their vision obscured by alcohol and rampant bear growth. Pitti is a bit like Las Vegas - horrifying, debilitating, exhausting, and perversely enjoyable.

We’re there as you read this; a small crew of six in the middle of an angry sea. We hope you’ll come and join us in the Pitti Uomo threads, where we’ll be posting our daily progress as well as our rants and musings on everything from planes to puttanesca.

2014 was a big year for Styleforum. We’re fortunate to have the best community of menswear aficionados in - dare I say it - the whole world, and that means a constant stream of scintillating discussion, threads full of beautiful images, and the most knowledgable posters that you can imagine. On top of that, December’s Charity Auctions raised over fourteen thousand dollars for the Spokane branch of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Thank you to everyone who helped!

We’ve got tons of new ideas, new projects, and new goals for 2015 - this newsletter is only one small piece of the puzzle. For all of our dreaming, nothing is possible without you, dear members. Thank you for making 2014 such a wonderful year, and we hope that you’re looking forward to 2015 as much as we are.

Happy New Year, everyone - and stay warm out there.

The only way to survive the ocean is to give in to the tide.
