1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

How to antique shoes using shoe wax

  1. Question: Can someone offer some insight on how these shoes were "antiqued" with this finish? Here's the before, or how they come when purchased.
    Here's the after.
Looks like just a top coat of medium brown + shine but I'm far from an expert. Thanks!

This is quite really easy to duplicate!! (consider and the difference in lighting )
1: 1 coat neutral +1 coat medium brown (wax only) (the entire shoe)
2: spit shine the toe cap 2-3 coats of medium brown and one last coat of neutral to give more depth at the color

This primer was first posted in our Official Shoe Care Thread.
