There aren't any stockists because they haven't been made yet. The buying is going on now and you may see them next spring if the deal with Bergdorf is over by then. If not you will probably have to get them from Europe or Japan. Bergdorf's buy is pretty small/ lame.

There are something like 30 different models in the collection and only 5 pictured. These wouldn't have been my highlights, although I like most of them except the chukka and the ones with kilties ( which personally I think should not appear anywhere except golf courses).

A kiltie tassel loafer is increasingly appealing to me, although I doubt I'd go through with it. The ghillie lacing is [IMG]

But the regular moccs and crepe sole moccs are nice. I like the green.

Thanks timpo etc. for keeping this (and the EG threads, and the WWM threads) updated!

hell yes, I'm going to try to get them for free. But unfortunately Yuketen doesn't really have the resources to give away shoes...

There will be a small run of 3 models from Yuketen some SS10 available in our h(y)r shop fyi. These things are great. Fall has some even better models coming, or hopefully coming I should say. Distribution is still pretty tough in North America, and most buyers play it safe and don't get the really great models.

    Great news, Ryan.

Regarding the Kiltie, they are probably removable, no?

Yes, easily. They're just laced in.

The penny loafer w/ a crepe sole is sweet. In fact, the thing that separates Yuketen is their nice, thick crepe soles.

Oi Polloi has the new Sports Hunt Boots available. Look nice (especially the peanut suede) and I'd prolly get if I hadn't just spent my last pennies on a TOJ varsity and new Visvims.

I just bought an Yuketen plain toe oxford(made in Canada), can someone enlighten as to what is a "VISCOLIZED SOLE"? The heel has something called "Cat's Paw"

I got this exact pair, pretty not your typical Yuketen shoes, but what's your guys view on it, and what kind of pants you will wear it with?

Where did you find them? Viscolizing is a method of making a leather sole resistant to water by treating it with special oils. The process has probably been around for over a hundred years I think, and Alden's flex welt soles go through a similar process. Cat's Paw heels were a special brand of heels back in the day and were commonly found on work boots, engineer boots, etc. I'm not a fan of them personally (they wear down kind of fast), but the hardcore vintage/repro folks love them for their authenticity.

I like those. That's one of the S/S 2010 shoes. I would give them a go with most things short of skinny jeans. You got these from a retailer already?

Robin, thks for your explanation. I bought this shoes in a Hong Kong store called Lane Crawford, and it is a S/S 2009 model, on the back of the shoe's tongue, it mentions made in January 2009. I want to get the brown suede dirty buck, but it was sold out in my size.

Originally I do have some reservation in buying this pair as its shape looks rather plain vanilla from a distance and there are those tabs at the heels and tongue. But when I try it on though, i think it is a nice change from those cap toe and wingtips that I had. And this pair is rather comfortable due to its bigger round toebox. I am looking to incorporate the shoes into few of my more causal looks, I guess need a bit of more planning than wearing the brown dirty buck but hopefully I will make it work.

Those are pretty cool. Lucky to find a pair because no retailer in North America would step to those I don't think. I would wear them happily with some Engineered Garments trousers, tucked in BD shirt and a casual sport coat. Roll up the pants. Or maybe with some dark denim with a nice cuff and some interesting socks.

I don't know why because they are actually a pretty conservative, military-inspired shoe. The plain-ness of them is what I like about them. It allows the shape of the last to come through. I didn't know they were also part of the SS09 collection but they will definitely be available again for next year. edit: as will the dirty bucks you were originally looking for.
