For my money, FW12 is still his most solid menswear presentation, followed by SS13. FW13 had some nice pieces (coats) but felt overall inferior in its use of proportions and while I appreciate the return of more voluminous trousers in this SS14 collection (though paradoxically, my favorite look is probably the white suit w/ raw edges + black tshirt) overall it does look pretty uninspired and somewhat stiff and clunky compared to the womens part of the show. It's alright though because womens is great, especially the more expansive silhouettes (looks 9,10 and the last five ones), I think he's at his best when he works with those kinds of volumes.

think he liked fw12 as well. this men's jacket from ss14 looks like it was adapted from a woman's jacket he did in fw12. cut and details (pocket shapes) differ, obviously, but the basic idea is there (he loves those breast pockets. they turn up a lot)

Cut of the pants is really similar. Any of the below could easily be Raf (all yang li)

True. In the absence of an obvious link with the collection, it feels like a gratuitous name-dropping kinda thing that doesn't bring anything to the table.

Still, I remember Yang Li talking about music (probably the same stuff) in some old interview so it seems to be something of some importance to him and the format used here is not without reminding Raf's iconography. I think it's interesting, even if the end result is unconvincing.

agreed. I also admit that if I liked the music better, I probably wouldn't mind so much.

there are some clothes that show really obvious influences and others like this where I'd never get the association. i might also be way out of the target audience/demographic though.

Honestly, whenever I read anything like that my eyes glaze over. There's probably some interesting meaning there but I really CBF and the medium of the reference just doesn't seem...relevant if that makes sense.

Does anyone know where I could find a double face bomber in a size 44?

Interesting little piece from KTC, the producer of Li's technical outerwear pieces:
