The commando half sole is a light lug pattern. The Raptor is a small random patterned lug that is a lot stickier with a toe section made for traction on ice, snow and slick rock.

What do you mean by light lug pattern?

    I searched and found these.

I definately remember passing through all the photos months back.
Definately trying to go with the commando half sole.

    Good morning,

I really love the looks of the 1000miles original or - even better - the cordovan 744 LTD version. The problem is, that it is by no means easy to find the correct size. I have scanned the thread, but haven't found what I'm looking for.
Calling from Germany, I haven't got a chance of trying these particular boots on, so I really depend on your advice: Normally, I'm quite happy with UK11 ot EUR 46, which would suggest a US 12 to 12,5 for the Wolverines. Reading through this thread however, I'm not sure if this isn't too big...
    So:
    PLEASE HELP:
My foot is about 30 cm / 11.8 inches toe to heel
    UK size (usually) 11
    EUR size (usually) 46
What size could you suggest for the Wolverine 1000 miles?

    Thank you ever so much!
    Stephan

I haven't worn them yet, they came out of the box with that. Am I being an asshole?

That would not be acceptable to me.

Better call the store and reserve them!

No, that wouldn't work with me either.

If you paid retail? No, I wouldn't accept them. If you got a super-good deal on them, and are planning on roughing them up anyway? Judgement call, depends on how much effort is needed to replace, and just how deep the gouge is. Is it mostly superficial, or pierce the leather through?

    Tandy Leather
Spool of 5/32" Latigo Lace in Tan. It's light in color but darkens with a bit of conditioner (whatever you use on boots) and will eventually darken to a very dark brown in a couple of weeks.

    http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/home/5010-521.aspx

According to the descriptions the tan is tanned differently than the standard brown, making it a good choice for laces. The 50' spool will last you a lifetime.

Good to know I'm not alone.

Let's say that I didn't pay MSRP and I did get a great deal, but I bought them from a very reputable store that has a great reputation. I have no doubt that I will be satisfied in the end.

The cut goes about 1/2 way through the thickness of the leather. So a bit more than a superficial scratch.

    Hello guys,

This thread convinced me to buy a paire of Wolverine 1000 (and I just read the 60 first pages of the topic, still going on...).
I am looking for a pair of RUST in size 8.5D but it is quite hard to find a dealer in France.
I found this one on ebay : skyhawks0012
Any of you have already had business with this seller?

    Thank you!

Couldn't tell you about that Ebay seller other than no refunds or exchanges would mean a no go for me.

    You get them from us.
