    That's fucking ridiculous.

Do you know what kind of pants you can get for $300?
Stuff that is way better than those.

    Too much money.

The price isn't that ridiculous (I own a pair and the construction is top-notch). The thing that IS ridiculous is that they're 2 seasons old yet W+H is charging full retail for them. But that seems to be par for the course with W+H these days - gouging their customers.

Exactly, when I saw them I thought - Wow, I thought these were completely sold out and Wow, why are these still full price!?!?

and with their 2nd delivery of FW they've clearly increased prices compared to last year, i.e. cowichan sweaters were $590 last year and they're now $625.

I really don't think W+H pants are worth $300. Their seasonal fabrics/colours are so overpriced in comparison to their basics.

Speaking of which, wool mac coat has finally dropped, but it's $950. If I recall correctly, the FW12 wool peacoats were only $650. I don't know if I'd want this one at that price, or even at 50% off. It's too bad, because it was one I was looking forward to.

    You remembered correctly.

Honestly the quality is very high for the outerwear. So it's not unreasonable for them to think they are worth the same as other boutique brands.
But they are definitely losing their appeal in my eyes.

Even $600 for the old peacoats I was reluctant. But it wasn't bad pricing and the new Peacoats look very nice, classical styling.

I was ready to buy the peacoat the day it dropped and I knew it would be expensive, but I was realistically thinking somewhere around $700 since the varsity was $880 and it had leather. But $880 + tax is pushing almost $1,000 and there's not a fucking chance I'm spending a $1,000 on W+H anything. It's really too bad because the new peacoat looks mint compared to the piece of shit they put out last year.

    Agreed dude.

There is a Gastown Shop Hop on Oct. 17th.
Roden Grey will probably have 15%-20% off that day.

Or wait until Feb for the End of Season Sale, but it's a long time from now.

Agree with both of you. I was anticipated $700-750 range as well. Fabric composition seems the same as well (90/10 Wool-Nylon), so it's not like it's a huge leap forward fabric wise. They do seem to have quilted button-in vests, but I don't think that's added value for me.

Actually, it looks like a lot of sizes are already sold out in the mac coats. So I guess we're just idiots, because people will buy them at whatever insane markup they have.

lol, their pricing is getting ridiculous. I worked retail for a couple of years and had a 30-50% off and even then there was a lot of W&H I wouldn't buy. At 50% off the retail, some of their outerwear was good for the price, and most of their pants and t-shirts, but even at the 30% off discount it wasn't worth it.

Especially since $600 is more than enough to buy you a 100% wool military spec peacoat, brand new or vintage. Even the Buzz Ricksons repro coats are $840 on Selfedge.

Their westpoint pants are really great value at 30-50% off , though. Even at full price they're not bad.

Jesus- I couldn't get anything I wanted. Either INSTA-SOLDOUT or way higher priced than I assumed.

And to think, I could have bought a new Margiela overcoat that doesn't have ridiculous pockets for about the same price as W+H wants.

Are you guys sure it just hasn't been updated with stock yet?

Sometimes I notice they say sold out when first released.
Then they have stock a while later.

Yeah, thats why the prices are the way they are each year. There is a majority of people who complain, and rightfully so, and then there is the people that still buy pretty much everything at ridiculous prices. I don't know, WH was one of my favorite brands, to where I'd justify spending the money on retail. Lately however, I look elsewhere for the price i'd spend on WH, or I wait till other sites go 40-60% off. I've never baught anything from there Spring/Summer though. It's always the Fall/Winter I like.

Another thing, does anyone know if they have any of there stock from FW12 available at there retail store in Vancouver? I'm looking for the Ombre handknit vest - black/grey Medium. If not, when they have there sample sale and anyone wouldn't mind being a proxy for me, I'd make it worth your time. Let me know. Thanks!

Retail store only had FW13 for W+H and Reigning champ. No archives, they said that eventually they would get in archives.

Sample sale - they said they won't be having the regular sample sale in late October/early November - they need to find another location to hold the sale and are more focused right now on the new retail location and a lot of upcoming collabs releasing. They're planning an event for December which I think would be some sort of sample sale sort of thing.

    Thanks for the update.
That's disappointing to hear regarding the Sample Sale.
