I'm looking for a great pair of cords, in dark brown. Requirements: straight leg, little visible branding, in a 34 length. I've seen the J.Crew cords, they just aren't particularly well made, and am hoping to do better.

Basically, what is the equivalent of my APC Rescue's, only in dark brown corduroy? (Don't say APC, their cords run very short, or at least they did last year).

Thanks in advance!

Call me crazy but I bought a pair of dark brown cords from the Old Navy and I wear them alot. The price was good, I find the fit to be great and after lots of wear they get some good character to them.

RLPL, Paul Smith, Martin Margiela are some nice ones I've seen lately.

Loro Piana has some very nice ones.. for around 300, I believe.

What do you call the ones with the very thin cording?

I saw a pic of them, they looked great, til I saw the back. *Way* too much brand ID on the rear pockets for my taste. It killed me, they really looked terrific from the front. If there was a way to remove those "double horseshoes" or whatever they are I'd get them.

But thanks for the thought, at least we're on the same track.

The problem with most cords (like JCrew) is that the rise is too high, making the wearer look like an old man.

Ralph Lauren had some corded cargo pants with lower rise last year that weren't bad -- but they were cargo pants. Let us know if you find anything good.

Gap had some cords a few years back that fit fairly well. Don't know if they have any this season.

Unfortunately, boot cut and no brown.

One problem with the STP/loropiana cords is that the cut is not a streetwear cut, which I characterize as being more like jeans: straight leg, low-to-medium rise, fine wale, and positively NO pleats of any kind.

I realize this sounds a little particular. But you made me this way, so live with it!

The Dior Homme ones look *perfect*. Not the right color, and insane $, but I may have to try them on and see if they hook me.
