    2 suggestions--

Can we have separate categories for PT Williams (out of respect) and Stitches (to prevent meltdowns / bursts of 200 posts)?

I am a bit surprised by how different my thoughts now are from when he started that thread. Back then, it was mostly awe, but now I view those fits with a much more critical eye. Of course, some of them are still awe-inspiring.

I can't help but wonder if anybody is game enough to try out a Foo-combo to see how Foo grades his combo when the wearer has a difference face. And height. Would be an interesting experiment.

How many of us have Rubinacci suits and OneShoes[IMG] in the closet?

Yeah, at that point fit, not just items will heavily come into play.

The patterns and designs of his sports jacket and trousers are, for the most part, not unique to Rubinacci. From the link posted a few posts back, I can spot at least a couple of sports jackets that he has on, whose cloth I have also had made up. If not the actual cloth, then at least virtually similar.

But, yes, fit matters, and I go English myself.

Yes, but the eye of Rubinacci in the cut is what is unique. Let's face it nobody will top it unless it is another Rubinacci, because well, foo chose Rubi because he obviously feels that the silhouette and attributes among other things are superior.

The entry cost to fooishness is tragically high.

good idea foo. it would be nice to eventually see a thread of solid :foo::foo::foo::foo:...a place to come for inspiration on putting together a better fit.

I don't think it's so much about the wearer's physique. It's about the degree to which the details come together. Whether you think it worked out or not, the changes to the OneShoe were targeted at making a more versatile, better fitting pair of shoes. For someone to learn from that, they shouldn't replicate the OneShoe as I ordered it, but rather apply the same principles to their own circumstances.

Also, I condemn many of my own outfits. I never claimed to be infallible. So, emulate at your own risk.

I think as a baseline, we should have the judges provide their Foo rating for some of these fits. I'm not sure I ever read Foo critique the likes of MaoMao, PG, etc. before...

So how do you get rats off an island? My grandmother showed me. You put an oil drum in a pit and hinge open the lid. Then you coat the lid in the coconut. The rats come for the coconut and plink, plink, plink, plink, plink, plink, plink; they fall into the trap. Then what do you do? Throw it in the ocean? Burn it? No. You just leave it. And then one by one ... They start eating each other until there are only two left. The two survivors. Then what do you do? Kill them? No. You release them into the trees. But they will not eat coconut anymore. Now they will only eat rat.

Agree it should not be about the wearer's physique. But people, whether we like it or not, consciously or otherwise, are biased that way. A lot of people are barely consistent in their appreciation of certain art forms, more particularly if there are subtle differences between them.

Reading that was actually creepier than when it was said in the movie.

Looking through that thread, I would say MaoMao is very strong. I would need more time to really sort through everything, but generally his outfits are several notches above the average on SF.

PG is more hit and miss. In contrast to MaoMao, he sometimes leans toward the cartoonish. And, very often, the details are way too cute.
