Would white bucks be considered nautical?

We're having a beach/nautical themed social tonight and I didn't feel like wearing my Sperrys; obviously bucks are out of season, but so are swim trunks and the like...

Not that I'm aware of (I could be wrong).

Not nautical but they're worn in summer when people were more likely to be found at marinas and will work with blue blazer and white pants.

White bucks are more closely associated with golf than yachting sir. May I suggest a pair of clean canvass sneakers or a light coloured pair of leather deck shoes.

This is what I was originally thinking, but with Nantucket red shorts and a blazer.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. I'll go with the Topsiders.

Make sure to take your drivers license or Age of Majority Card sir...with an outfit like that you may be mistaken for a high school freshman

    Perhaps in England, sir.

Here in the colonies it is a perfectly fratastic outfit.

I do beg your pardon, sir. I haven't been to the colonies for some time, though I should have known that bad taste never goes out of style in America.

I may very well instead wear my mint green short trousers, embroidered all about with marlins in an emblematic motif.

I do hope such a suggestion did not cause you to lose your monocle in your claret cup.

I would say not, since suede and water don't really mix well.

I think wearing Shorts with a blazer just doesnt make sense. (Winter wear teamed with summer???)

How is a blazer 'winter wear'?
