So I stumbled across this blazer at a century 21 for $199.00; original price was 420.00. It looks like the Brooks brothers Regent blazer but the regent blazer has 2 vents and this has one. It's a pretty nice blazer imo, and I think its a good starter blazer (I was willing to spend around 500 for a decent one) from Howard Yount, BB or Epaulet. What do you guys think? I am going to go to the tailor if I do decide to keep it I'm going to the tailor so please critique fit. Should I keep it?

Thanks! i tried posting there too, mods just have to approve it. The shoulder looks big? I'll ask the tailor if he can do anything about it. Should I keep it?

that fit does not look good at all.

definitely seems too big and the cut just doesn't seem good for you

If you're willing to spend $500, then go to an actual store like BB and try on their different fits and sizes. The one you have shown is far too big. If that is a 42R Madison then you probably could have luck with a 40R Fitzgerald, but just go to a store and see for yourself.

Is this something I could have fixed at a tailor ? Most times the problem is I can't fit my arms and I can't move comfortably in jackets because my arms are usually too big in these jackets. I plan on getting the sides tapered if anything ?

Shoulders look too wide. Jacket looks too long. Sleeves look too long and (possibly) too full. The chest is either too small or you need to pull the jacket onto yourself better. I'd return it and size down. Lurking a little more wouldn't hurt either. That fit's a disaster.

Okay so I took your advice and i took a new set of pictures and i pulled the jacket onto myself more and i relaxed my shoulders more (shoulders less retracted) these are the pictures..what's the final verdict? return or take to the tailor?

Judging by the sewn on tags, that is a jacket which BB made for a department store. They are not labels seen in a Brooks Brothers store.

You look like a pretty fit guy, I agree with the others; that jacket being oversized and boxy is not doing you any favors.

If you like it, if it fits you, and the price is right, go for it. Personally I prefer a lower button stance, and i'm not a fan of the patch breast pocket, but again; that stuff is completely subjective.

@Mikey, here's my 2 cents while not an expert, the jacket is too big. The fact that you think this is a deal does not warrant to rationalize it as a great purchase. A deal is only a deal if it fits, unless you plan to flip it. Deals and sales are far wide and often and it doesn't necessarily translate to great buys. Be patient and try to nail down your size/cut first.

Excellent advice and point ! Thank you so much ! I think I'll take a trip to the city to check out epaulet. Any other places to try ? Maybe actual brooks brothers ? There's one right by me.

+1 on Steve's comment. What's the inside of the blue tag on the sleeve say? I bet it's from Nordstrom, looks like that label.
