What makes a Tom Ford suit?

The jacket is too short and clearly too tight.
I don't even understand this line of reasoning. What made the scenes in Skyfall a more casual occasion? As for action scenes, Daniel Craig is in good shape and built like a brawler, you don't need to stuff him into a sausage casing suit to showcase it. It actually makes it look worse.

Nothin' wrong with a little pull.

Much better than:

Well, I for one love both James Bond and Tom Ford suits. That said, I can't help but thinking that the suits he wore in Skyfall looked downright awful. Jackets way to short and slim, trousers too low waisted and tight and to me they appeared, well, cheap and fused (though they probably were anything but).

What makes it a more casual occasion is that it's far from being a formal occasion. In the opening scene for example, police officers don't put on suits when they're chasing criminals.

Yes I agree the suits were too slim, but that's for the purpose of making it appropriate for the scene taken.

Compare to the suits in QOS, which looked much better.

A well fitting suit is far easier to move around in than a suit where all the seams are near bursting.

Maybe a more fair comparison using Craig's tuxedos from all his 007 films so far:

1000

It was difficult to find comparable angles, but better food for thoughts than comparing different Bonds with different suits.

On my part, i am a fan of Bond, i am a fan of Tom Ford, and i am a fan of Daniel Craig, but i enjoyed his suits in his first two 007 movies more...

The casino royale tux is by far the best. the same can't be said about the rest of the clothes in that film, though. giant, boxy cuts.

The Royale tux was a Brioni and they must have had an amazing tailor on set.

The QOS tux was TF and is the Base B model. Looks good. That's what a "slim fit" should look like.

The SF was TF again but looks way too small.

As for Connery, i think it looks good. Lots of drape.

Quintessential British style, I'd say. Strong and extended shoulders, draping, and double foward pleats. Very authoritative/masculine look.

Looks like an old fart.
Well, Connery was/is an old fart. Better that than looking like Craig in Skyfall--a teen growing out of his clothes.

It's hard to reply to someone who thinks that Connery's three-pice suit is stodgy and that Craig's Skyfall suits actually fit and look good. I guess that's why the too-small look is selling.

If you watch the movie you'll find that the bad fit was probably purposeful and thematic.

It wasn't a fashion statement.

They make about a dozen suits for each main scene. Some are designed only for a still shot while others are designed for action. Regardless, the suit DC is wearing is not the same suit you will get at a TF boutique. The fabric might be the same or similar and some details might be similar, but DC's suits are bespoke for his body and the needs of the specific scene.
