so im looking at pics at the hot end of the Bush family tree (Lauren) and I come across this: [IMG] what is this jacket he is wearing? is this some kind of style that im just not familiar with? some designers idea of creative? what is going on with the sleeves? the buttoning point is around his crotch and it looks about 3 inches too long, and not in a deliberate-type way. His shirt sleeves look far too long as well. Edit: looked further, apparently this is "New York's hottest designer, Zac Posen". *shudder*

Zac Posen is a NYC media darling right now. Personally, I think that he is overhyped and not particularly original in his menswear - trying to do a Gucci meets Sandy Dalal thing. The jacket is a silk shantung number. Not his best work, imo. Not his best work at all.

Though I doubt they're dating (Zac is openly gay), I agree with your overall sentiment.

Zac Posen copies other people's designs a lot for his women's wear. Explicitly one might state.

He wears a lot of vintage.

I would postulate that, as hideous as that jacket is, it's vintage. The drape and the material look, to me at least, that it was made in the 1950's. I'm sure one of the heavyweights will chime in on this...

    A.

P.S. What the hell is going on with his sleeves?.

No. The other arm is behind her ... she is trying to avoid touching the "jacket".

Good, I am glad to hear that they aren't dating. There is some small justice in the world...
