    Depends which hour....

Hour 1: two or three beers (usually guinness because it is less filling)
Hour 2: two or three beers
Hour 3: one or two beers
Hour 4: one or two beers and a shot
Hour 5: one beer, one or two shots
Hour 6: water, one or two shots
Hour 7: water (if I'm still in a condition where I'm willing to be out in public)

Usually two Dogfish Head 120 IPA's

After that hilarity for any spectators present.

    So many variables.
My thoughts exactly. Big night, slow night, driving/not driving, acquaintances/drinking buddies, classy joint/dive bar, etc.

Under ideal circumstances, a pint to quench my thirst and bourbon on the rocks to get me going; then for the rest of the half hour some kind of variation of that depending on the mood. Most nights it's stick to bourbon, others I'm just thirsty.

    2 glasses of wine

    or

    2-3 beers

    or

    2 cocktails

All of which makes me think that I need to pace myself Saturday night in San Francisco at the Meetup. Binge scheduled a 2 1/2 hour cocktail "hour".

You drank a gallon of water in an hour?

Maybe 90 minutes? It was also my first night as a non-smoker.

My attitude has always been that if I can't remember everything I've had to drink in a night, I should be cutting back or slowing down (or both).

Guiness and less filling is not my experience but.

Usaly starts like you with a couple of beers or or wine glasses. After that its pretty much 1-2 beers or small glass whisky/borubon/vodka/drink per hour if it dosnt derail and i lose the count.

Well, the last one that I can remember was Saturday night. I think it involved a few scotches and a few shots of whatever the bartender gave me. After a wedding reception with an open bar, a few more rounds back at the hotel bar, and a few hours spent at my favorite bar in upstate NY, I was surprised that I could still stand up at the end of the night.
