^yup, light brown would be good. but could go for a small houndstooth (or solid) instead of a plaid, so as to keep the vaguely graphic/colour-blocky overall look intact.

    x-posting....

Ok, I need some help fellow MC casual viewers, I have decided I would like to purchase an SNS hearning sweater. Any advice on sizing and where to purchase online to the US? Thanks

The new season stuff, M is roughly 36-38, L is about 40, etc etc.

Unless you have viking genes, they're quite long. They will feel too long at first with your correct size but after a while you realise this makes them cooler and you just have to not button the bottom 2 buttons.

Check the SW&D thread for stores.

Thanks. The trousers came back a slightly brighter yellow (less brown) than I remembered the swatch being, but still nonetheless very much within the earthy/mustard (i.e. not canary) range, so I suspect after a few years they dull down slightly more and become a bit more versatile too. I still love them as they are now anyway. :)

First post. Very happy with clothes, save for the bit of dangly scarf fringe around the junk. I actually wear it around the neck, but I wanted to show the tie. Such is life.

I have 4 scarves to use with my outerwear, all solids: grey, navy, burgundy and camel. For versatility if only going with one color I would suggest mid to light grey.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I was also thinking of light brown or light gray, my only concern was that when I wear brown or gray trousers (which is 90% of the time, save for jeans), it may end up too matchy-matchy. Orange and burgundy sound also nice, I was thinking of something like this from Johnstons of Elgin:

But I suppose there is nothing better than try and see.

Regarding my screen name, it is name of a hero from nordic sagas, which I adopted long time ago when I was into everything from Scandinavia.

    Looking good!

That's much nicer than I dressed for our blizzard--I'm wearing jeans, an OCBD, a shawl collar cardigan, and Bean Engineer boots.
